Professional Growth
2015 Student PSEA Conference

The Student PSEA Conference was held in Hershey, Pennsylvania in May 2015. The Conference and Convention included an "Outreach to Teach" event at the Camp Curtain Academy School (Grades 5-8) in Harrisburg. This event was very successful and had over 300 participants, an increase of 100 participants from last year's conference. Each participant went to three professional development breakout sessions of their choice. At the "Outreach to Teach" event, there were more than 45 different murals painted around the school's hallways, library, and gym. In addition to the murals, the students donated over 2,000 books adn completely renovated the school's library. The group of volunteers sorted, organized, leveled, and shelved more than 10,000 books.
American Education Week

To celebrate American Education Week, S-PSEA members joined together to make huge baskets filled with fruit, muffins, coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. The baskets were then given to each department with in the College of Education. Then members ordered hand sanitizers and wrote a cheerful message and attached it to the bottle with Slippery Rock green ribbon for each of the professors to enjoy.
